Doggystyle Offers Dogs At Miami’s Frost Science Museum

“I wished to do something easy but nevertheless add my own spin,” he says. “I am trying to alter the stigma around a normal hot dog and show that it may be transformed into something quite delicious.”

In Rivera’s hot-dog cart, locate the chorizo, garnished in pill mayo, caramelized onions, and papitas; the jerk, where a lean, hot chicken sausage has been finished off with black bean mango salsa and pickled red cabbage; and the carrot dog, in which a garlic-herb-marinated lettuce is smothered in guacamole, cabbage, and ketchup, mayo, and black bean mango salsa.

Rivera also creates the ‘Merica dog — a bacon-wrapped hamburger shaped just like a hot dog — and a selection of breakfast-inspired varieties, including a sausage and pancake dog, also a doughnut sandwich, and an omelet dog ($4 to $8).

“it is a struggle to make a gourmet hot dog,” he says. “I am trying to integrate Miami flavors and show that a hot dog could differ from that which we already understand.”

Aside from hot dogs, Rivera functions a “Doggy bag,” in which Doritos Cool Ranch or even nacho-flavored tortilla chips are smothered in angus beef broth, sour cream, pico sauce, pickled cabbage, and shredded cheese. And for people with a sweet tooth, he also offers large popsicles in flavors such as fruit punch, guava, pineapple, and mango, as well as a “flancocho,” a combination of flan and rum cake with coconut cream.

Besides parking Doggystyle at Frost Science, ” Rivera frequently participates in other events at the A+E District, the Miami Flea, and Biscayne Green. He has also popped up at Wynwood Brewing, J. Wakefield, Omni Park, also Sidebar.

Sometime before Art Basel, a location in Wynwood will conduct a company that supports at-risk kids, via a venture with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills and Empowered Youth. The company plans to establish a culinary training centre and café, and Rivera will provide employment to a number of the men and women who complete this program. Details about the location and operating hours are not yet available.
