After all this fantastic raingarden beds have become overrun with ants. YUCK! It’s hard to harvest your delectable vegetables, once you’re battling ants. Whether you are fighting ants in the kitchen or in the garden bed, then this easy three-ingredient organic recipe will allow you to combat those pesky pests.

Is 1/2 cup of Borax*, 1 cup of water and sugar.

Add 1 cup of sugar into 1/2 cup of Borax* and combine well.

Add just enough water to create a syrup mix.

It jars and label. Keep it out of reach of pets and children.

For your kitchen : Pour a small amount into a shallow dish and put near the location you see ants arriving in. I love to use the lid of an old jelly jar. Do not kill the ants when you find them consuming the mix. Let them take a drink and take it back to the colony. This can kill the colony.

For your garden: Pour a small amount of the blend into the center of the ant hill. The ants will take the mix inside the colony and it will kill the whole population. In a day or 2 that the whole colony will be gone.
